Well, here we go, off on the diet and exercise journey to wellness. Or insanity. Whatever. Have you ever noticed that those really healthy types who eat organic and workout all the time just aren't all there? I knew someone like that recently and she drove me bonkers with her super-healthy habits and judgmental BS about how I let my kids eat McDonalds. Well let me tell you, my kids are 100 times better adjusted than her kid is. And they don't sneak around and eat all the junk food in someone's else's house because of deprivation, either.
But I digress. Today I started the Atkins low carb diet. It seems to be the only one where I actually lose pounds and inches. That sucks, let me tell you . I didn't get up until 11AM this morning. I'm unemployed, just moved, my husband is retiring from the Army, my little boy is staying in NY to go to college and he's living in our house...I have some stress issues that are leading to a bit of insomnia. I didn't eat breakfast, but for lunch I had some steak strips and a salad with bleu cheese dressing. Or is it blue cheese? I forget. Then I did a 45 minute pilates DVD workout. I got this DVD at Target for $14.99 (see the side bar). It comes with a pink stretchy band to do the workout with. Other than popping myself with that band several times, it wasn't too bad. After dinner tonight, I will get on my spinning bike and follow the 30 minute spin & slim workout DVD.
So far I'm only a little hungry. I have a slight headache, which I think is more allergy-sinus related than anything. I had coffee this morning, I used splenda and sugar free creamer with no carbs. Yeah, I know, caffeine is bad, blah blah blah. You can take away my sugar, but you'll never take my caffeine! So that's all for now. I'll update later. Unless I kill someone, in which case they probably won't let me have blogging privelages from jail. If you knew my family, you'd understand. Wish me luck!
